Why'd you have to wait?

It's things like THIS that move me and make it all worth it. I hope to leave this life at least knowing that I have made a little impact on somebody's life, that I'm leaving some sort of legend.

I can say this. The respect and admiration is MORE than returned.

.............

As you may have seen. The Fray's new single is out. It debuted during Grey's and I almost had a heart attack. The Fray was the best concert I have ever been too. I was moved. The passion Isaac had and the connection he made with the band and the audience was amazing. The raw reality of his lyrics and the stories behind them...here's the lyrics to the new one. Probably the best song "lyrically" that I have heard all year. It's been on repeat for the past 24 hours. This song deals with so much inside me. My biggest road block with God is why do bad things happen to good people. Especially those close to me. I battle every day, and I'll be honest, I get quite angry/frustrated. But if theres anything I've learned, it's that through the silence love burns and though things may go unanswered there are still whispers of love.

//Verse 1//
I found God
On the corner of First and Amistad
Where the west
Was all but won
All alone
Smoking his last cigarette
I said, “Where you been?”
He said, “Ask anything.”

//Verse 2//
Where were you
When everything was falling apart?
All my days
Were spent by the telephone
That never rang
And all I needed was a call
It never came
To the corner of First and Amistad

//Chorus 1//
Lost and insecure
You found me, you found me
Lying on the floor
Surrounded, surrounded
Why’d you have to wait?
Where were you, where were you?
Just a little late
You found me, You found me

//Verse 3//
In the end
Everyone ends up alone
Losing her
The only one who’s ever known
Who I am
Who I’m not, and who I want to be
No way to know
How long she will be next to me

//Chorus 2//
Lost and insecure
You found me, you found me
Lying on the floor
Surrounded, surrounded
Why’d you have to wait?
Where were you, where were you?
Just a little late
You found me, You found me

//Bridge//
Early morning
The city breaks
I’ve been calling
For years and years and years and years
And you never left me no messages
You never sent me no letters

You got some kind of nerve
Taking all I want

//Chorus 3 and outro//
Lost and insecure
You found me, you found me
Lying on the floor
Where were you, where were you?

Lost and insecure
You found me, you found me
Lying on the floor
Surrounded, surrounded
Why’d you have to wait?
Where were you, where were you?
Just a little late
You found me, You found me

Why’d you have to wait
To find me, to find me?
